Matthew 25
Verse 1 – “At that time the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN will be like Ten Virgins
who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.”
The Kingdom of heaven is a place that Jesus mentioned in the book of John 14:2-3 “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. “
There is no doubt that the place Jesus was talking about has already been prepared. Knowing the season that we are living in, we know that Jesus is at the door, and waiting for the Father to say “Go get your Bride, it is time”. If the Word says that only the Father knows the Day or the Hour, that tells me that even Jesus Himself is trusting the timing of the Father! Can you imagine!? Jesus himself, The Bridegroom - is also waiting on the Father!
Verse 4 – “The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.
To fully and completely understand what this Parable means, we need to understand what these 2 things mentioned mean in the spiritual realm. (LAMP = represents the WORD OF GOD and LIGHT) - Psalm 119:105 “Your WORD is a LAMP to my feet and a LIGHT to my path.” (OIL = represents the HOLY SPIRIT).
For a Lamp to give its light or for it to work you will need oil. We, being Wise Virgins, know that we have the Word of God - the Lamp is the Word of God and the Light of the World is Jesus, we receive Jesus then we become the light ourselves – but we cannot leave out the Holy Spirit because it is the Trinity of God. The Oil is the Holy Spirit. The difference between the wise and the foolish is not that one group did not have oil. To be wise is to take extra oil in jars and we do that by being in constant contact with the Dispenser of oil, going frequently to the Dispenser of oil even if it means the Bridegroom’s coming is delayed. Delay is not denial – He is coming for the Wise Virgins. Trimming the Lamp is to make sure that the flame stays clean and bright, not dim and smoky.
Verse 8 – “The foolish ones said to the wise, “Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.”
When the foolish said to the wise “Give us some of your oil, our lamps are going out. The Oil, as being The Holy Spirit cannot be transferred, and it cannot be borrowed either, we cannot borrow someone else’s Holy Spirit, we all need to fan the flame of the Holy Spirit’s fire to keep burning within us. It is the Holy Spirit’s job to keep you guided into all truth. - John 14:26 ‘’BUT THE COUNSELOR, THE HOLY SPIRIT WHOM THE FATHER WILL SEND IN MY NAME WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, AND WILL REMIND YOU OF EVERYTHING I HAVE SAID TO YOU.’’ And will remind you of everything I have said to you, means ‘’Everything that is written in the Bible, and everything that Jesus had spoken’’ – John 2:22 ‘’AFTER HE WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD, HIS DISCIPLES RECALLED WHAT HE HAD SAID. THEN THEY BELIEVED THE SCRIPTURE AND ‘’ THE WORDS THAT JESUS HAD SPOKEN’’- It is the Holy Spirit’s job to bring all these Scriptures to your remembrance, even if its only a tiny bit of what a verse says. The Holy Spirit has a very important role in these last days, you need that oil to be able to attend the Wedding of the Lamb!! It is the Holy Spirit’s job to reveal the things to us ahead of time before it happens, just like the Scripture says: ACTS 2 :17 ‘’IN THE LAST DAYS GOD SAYS, ‘’I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT ON ALL PEOPLE, YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS WILL PROPHESY, YOUR YOUNG MEN WILL SEE VISIONS, YOUR OLD MEN WILL DREAM DREAMS.’’ – The Holy Spirit will reveal things to us ahead of time – the Scripture says that.
The Holy Spirit can no way be passed from one person to another either, without a constant prayer your lamp and its light will go dim and smoky and it will eventually go out just like the foolish ones. Remember, the foolish had an oil, but they ran out of it. The wise however, stayed faithful being watchful unto prayer. Being faithful and wise, is all about a matter of the heart and being prepared for the Bridegroom’s coming whether its delayed or not, we stay wise and faithful by making sure our lamps are filled with the Holy Spirit - Oil. What cannot be transferred to the foolish are internal state including the Holy Spirit. As a believer of Jesus, only you can fill your lamp with oil, nobody else can do it for you – but yourself. You are responsible for your own lamp, and I am responsible for my own. We all need to be a Wise Virgin, The Word says, Jesus is coming for the Wise Virgins, its never too late to fill your lamps with oil and make sure it stays filled, make sure your heart is right with God and we do that by staying and living in repentance every single day. There is a beautiful promise when you truly repent. – To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to truly repent. To be saved is to truly repent. Read this verse slowly…..
ACTS 2:38 ‘’THEN PETER SAID UNTO THEM, ‘’REPENT, AND BE BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, AND YE SHALL RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.’’
REPENT = sins known and unknown
REMISSION means = cancellation of debt / Forgiveness of sins
HOLY SPIRIT = ye shall receive the Holy Spirit
