& WORLDLY LUSTS. TITUS 2:11-12. IF YOU SERVE THE LUSTS OF
THE FLESH, DON'T
CALL IT GRACE

2 Timothy 3:2
“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,”
2 Timothy 3:3
2 Timothy 3:6

2 Timothy 4:3-4 - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 Timothy 6:3-5 - If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, [even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
Jude 1:4 - For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 2:1 - But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
2 Timothy 3:13 - But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
1 John 2:26-27 - These [things] have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
1 John 4:1-6 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Remember, there
are scoffers who would deny these
very scriptures
Jesus told us that we would know false teachers by their fruit, and 2 Peter lays this fruit out for all to see.
Shifts in Morality

It’s no secret that
American culture is
changing at an
alarming rate.
Traditional understanding
of marriage,
transformation,
family values,
and the like are being
replaced with more
progressive views.
The Bible states
that “most people’s
love will grow cold”
(Matthew 24:12).
The lawlessness
of our culture
is increasing and
in turn creating
a hostile atmosphere.
People actually believe the end of the world is happening now? It’s true. Christians everywhere are starting to agree, siting sweeping moral decay, biblical disconnectedness, and ongoing violence in the Middle East as just a few of the markers. These prophecies were written thousands of years ago in the Old and New Testaments
The following are some outstanding features of last-days, or end-times, prophecies:
-
War on a large scale.—Matthew 24:7; Revelation 6:4.
-
Famine.—Matthew 24:7; Revelation 6:5, 6.
-
Great earthquakes.—Luke 21:11.
-
Pestilences, or epidemics of “terrible diseases.”—Luke 21:11,
-
Increase of crime.—Matthew 24:12.
-
Ruining of the earth by mankind.—Revelation 11:18.
-
Deterioration of people’s attitudes, as shown by many who are “unthankful, disloyal, . . . not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride.”—2 Timothy 3:1-4.
Widespread apathy and even ridicule toward the evidence of the approaching end.—Matthew 24:37-39; 2 Peter 3:3, 4.
apathy means-lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern.
-
Breakdown of the family, with people who have “no natural affection” and children who are “disobedient to parents.”—2 Timothy 3:2, 3.
-
Love of God growing cold in most people.—Matthew 24:12.
-
Noteworthy displays of religious hypocrisy.—2 Timothy 3:5.
-
Increased understanding of Bible prophecies, including those related to the last days.—Daniel 12:4.
-
Global preaching of the good news of the World.—Matthew 24:14.

Jesus had quite a bit to say about the time just before His return, and He specifically instructed His followers to watch for certain signs. He wanted us to understand that He knew about all of these things in advance, that He has a plan, and that He is in control.
So there is no need to fear. In fact, Jesus told us these things so that we would not be afraid. Three of the key chapters where Jesus discusses the events of the last days are Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. To set the stage for the rest of this article, let me share just three quick verses from Luke 21… 9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified:
for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. 10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
