Girl, 10, who complained of toothache had large brain tumour
A schoolgirl was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour days after complaining of toothache and double vision.
When Jayne Fagan from Bootle, took her daughter Lucie-Joan to the dentist last month they suspected her wisdom teeth were coming through early and she had a tooth removed.
But when Lucie, ten, started experiencing headaches and double vision, her mum decided to get a second opinion and booked her an eye test at Specsavers on March 22.
It was here that a scan showed the discs behind Lucie's eye were swollen and the optician told dad Liam Thomson, 32, to take her to Alder Hey Children's Hospital straight away.
Jayne, who is also a mum to Lacey, 12, Holly, 8, and Heidi, 6, told the ECHO: "We got fast tracked to Alder Hey so they were expecting us. As soon as we got there someone came over to me and said 'are you Lucie's mum?
